First Login and the Setup Wizard
Now that WHMCS is installed and the automation cron is configured, you are ready to login to the admin area and begin the configuration within.
First, navigate to yourdomain.com/whmcs/admin (replacing yourdomain.com with your path to the WHMCS installation).
Login by entering the administrator details you provided during the installation wizard
Once logged in, you will be presented with the Getting Started Wizard. Follow the steps outlined in the wizard to get your WHMCS installation ready for use.
If the wizard does not appear, it can be invoked at any time via Help > Setup WizardZoom:
Upon completion of the wizard, click Finish and you will be taken to your WHMCS Dashboard!Zoom:
Once the Setup Wizard is closed, the Administration Area is displayed. From here you can manage every aspect of the WHMCS Software.
There are some common elements to every page throughout the admin area:Zoom:
The uppermost left of each page has quick links to the admin area home, client area, a link to make quick notes, manage your admin account, and logout link.
Next are some quick statistics, allowing for monitoring of key metrics from any page in the admin area: Pending Orders, Overdue Invoices and Ticket Awaiting Reply.
Below that are tabs to the main navigation links: Clients, Orders, Billing etc. Hover over each tab to view the menu items.
Some tabs can be clicked directly to display a unique page:
- Click the Support tab to view the Support Overview page
- Click the Addons tab to view the Apps & Integrations page
- Click the Setup tab to view the Setup Tasks page
When logging into the admin area, the Dashboard page is displayed. This provides an overview of automation, support and business operations in a customizable visual layout.
At the top of the page are the Badges. These display important statistics and items which may require your attention. Click a badge to see the items in question.Zoom:
The Dashboard page is comprised of Widgets. These widgets are customizable units each containing a particular piece of information about the WHMCS software and your business operation.
Widgets can be dragged and dropped into new positions, minimized and manually refreshed by clicking the buttons in the widget heading
Widgets can be hidden entirely by clicking the cog icon in the top-right corner:
